Craigies Cider is an independent cider-maker based in Blessington, Co Wicklow. We only use Irish apples sourced from dedicated growers primarily in counties Waterford, Tipperary, Cork and Kilkenny. We work with the growers throughout the year in order to work with the best quality fruit possible. We believe that Irish cider achieves its greatest complexity and expression as a blend and that each apple should reflect its regional origins as well as its specific fruit characteristics. We are convinced that our ciders should reflect the year in which the fruit was grown and so only produce vintage ciders.
Craigies’ Dalliance 2013 (5.8% ABV) is pale green in colour, light-medium bodied with a mixture of fresh citrus and green apple flavours and a touch of fennel. It is more akin to a sparkling wine in texture and flavour than a traditional cider and possesses the same palate refreshing qualities. This vintage is a blend of dessert apples and is very different in style to the Ballyhook Flyer. It is released later than Ballyhook Flyer as it spends fifteen months on its fine lees in order to develop and enhance its aromatic qualities. Like the Ballyhook Flyer it is a sparkling cider that is very refreshing with a long, complex finish.
Craigies' Dalliance 2013 (5.8% ABV) is a great match for dishes such as charcuterie, sushi or creamy Irish cheeses such as Cooleeny.
