The Echlinville Distillery, on the Far East Coast of Northern Ireland, became Northern Ireland’s first licensed distillery in 125 years, distilling its first spirit in 2013. It has since established itself at the forefront of Ireland’s spirits renaissance and is home to some of the Ireland’s best-known spirits including Dunville’s Irish Whiskey, Echlinville Irish Pot Still Gin and Bán Poitín.
Festival Event: Echlinville Distillery, Kircubbin, County Down, June 23rd
On the opening day of the Irish Gin & Tonic Fest, the doors of Echlinville Distillery will be thrown open to invite in plenty of gin lovers! Their gin is distilled single pot still style and is made with their own barley so there’s plenty to learn about!
At the end of each tour, guests will get a tutored tasting from our Head Distiller Graeme, who will give a unique insight into the gin’s characteristics and each guest will be invited to make their perfect serve.
With a unique barley neutral base spirit distilled from Echlinville’s homegrown malted barley and infused with an array of botanicals including locally foraged gorse flower petals and Strangford Lough sweet kelp, Echlinville Pot Still Gin is redefining Irish gin. Crafted from field to glass, and winning a coveted Three Stars at The Great Taste Awards 2017, few distilleries can offer a gin of such provenance.
